Who am I?

I’m an honest and genuine person. Introverted, but friendly and sincere. Quirky and fun to be around.  I’m a photography fanatic, it’s a bit of an obsession really. I grew up snapping photos of pretty much anything and everything in sight; I can’t say that I’ve changed that much, in that regard. I was always looking for a unique angle when taking photos of seemingly mundane things. I’ve held onto that fascination, that curiosity. It’s what makes my job so fulfilling to me.

I’m not a professional photographer because I decided it was time to charge money for taking photos; I started this business by complete accident, truth be told. I had a friend of a friend ask me to shoot her wedding in December, 2011. Her photographer had bailed on her at the last minute, and she really needed help. Shooting weddings professionally had honestly not been on my radar. I had recently discovered the wonders of professional-grade cameras, and was very excited to learn all about them. But shooting such an important event? I was nervous, but I agreed to take on the task and do the very best I could. By the end of the day, I was exhausted and wondered how on EARTH people did this for a living. Little did I know, that two more friends would ask me to shoot their weddings as well. By the third wedding, I was hooked. There was just something amazing about being a fly on the wall at such an important time in a couple’s relationship. It’s so personal and so emotional, and yet they invited me in like I was part of the family. I cried at each wedding, like the bride was my best friend. Like that was me dancing with my dad, at my wedding. The emotion is real, the moments are real. Very real to me.

So let’s fast forward a few years. It’s 2016, and I have fully embraced the initial serendipity and made it my full-time career. I’m a wedding and portrait photographer who takes her work very seriously, but also loves to have fun with it. I view every client as a potential new friend, and love getting to know each and every one of you. I love to laugh with you, cry with you, and experience every emotion in between. Because at the end of the day, I may own a business, I may be a hired photographer, but we’re all human.

Thanks for reading my mini autobiography, and I really look forward to showing you how beautiful your life’s moments truly are!
